Sandra G Hunter is the former Director of TRIO Programs at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, boasting over 30 years of experience in higher Education, including 19 years dedicated to TRIO programs. Her career is distinguished by a deep commitment to empowering first-generation, underserved, underrepresented, and low-income students, ensuring they thrive in higher education. Sandra has held significant roles at Florida State University, Mercer University, Wiregrass Technical and Community College, Middle Georgia Technical Community College, Beaufort County Community College, and Crave Community College. She is the founder and CEO of Next Step Consulting Inc.
She earned a BA from West Virginia University, in Social Work and a master’s degree from Florida State University in Education Leadership Student Personal, along with several professional certifications. Sandra is an active member of Pitt County Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Outside of her professional life, Sandra is an avid crafter with a passion for various projects always in progress. She is also a proud mother to two young adults and a son in love, James and Roetha Dixon, and son Conrad, who continually inspires her dedication to nurturing and supporting the next generation of leaders.
