Katie Murray is the Director of New Student and Family Programs at Towson University. She is responsible for conducting 24 one-day summer orientation programs and 6 winter orientation programs – 16 of which are for transfer students and their families. Towson University has also received national recognition from NODA, the Association for Orientation, Transition, and Retention, for the Transfer Mentor Program. Katie’s experience with transfer students began in earnest during her time at George Mason University and continued in her role with Admissions and Orientation at UMBC. A graduate of the University of South Carolina’s Higher Education and Student Affairs program, she knew that working with incoming students and students in transition was her passion. Currently, she is a member of the NODA Board of Directors and is pursuing her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Frostburg State University.
