Jose Paez-Figueroa currently serves as the Assistant Dean of Learning Resources at UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ, bringing nearly 30 years of experience in postsecondary education to his leadership. Throughout his career, he has been a steadfast champion for student success, fostering cultures of innovation and collaboration.
A dedicated leader within the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA), he has held numerous high-level roles at both the regional and national levels. Regionally, he has served as the New Jersey Membership Coordinator and completed a full presidential cycle (President-Elect, President, and Past-President) for this PA/NJ region. Nationally, his contributions include serving as CRLA Secretary (2021–2024), an ITTPC reviewer since 2018, having reviewed more than 100 programs, an editor for NewsNotes since 2020, a member of multiple ad hoc committees, and, more recently, as the ITTPC Coordinator. A visionary advocate for professional development and student support services, he continues to mentor emerging leaders and support CRLA's mission and goals.
