Heath Boice-Pardee

Full Bio


Dr. Heath Boice-Pardee has worked as an administrator in higher education for more than 20 years in a variety of administrative and teaching roles. Heath is currently the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at Rochester Institute of Technology. Additionally, he has an appointment as an associate faculty member with the School for Advanced Studies at the University of Phoenix where he serves on the Academic Program Council for Higher Education. In this role, he served as one of three faculty members who developed the doctoral program in Higher Education Administration. He currently holds a leadership role with the University of Phoenix’s internal social network, PhoenixConnect, the world’s largest academic social network.

Heath has published and presented internationally on topics including philosophy of education and student affairs, peer education, and customer service leadership in higher education. Much of his career has been spent creating vision for first-year programs and transitioning new students to college. His most recent research and administrative interests are marrying theories of customer service leadership and higher education to enhance the student experience. He has been instrumental in the creation of higher education administration concentration in the Master’s in Service Leadership and Innovation at Rochester Institute of Technology, which will launch in fall 2013.

A self-professed lifelong learner, he received his Doctorate in Education from Rutgers University. Most recently, Heath received a Graduate Certificate in Service Leadership and Innovation from Rochester Institute of Technology. When not working or teaching in higher education, Dr. Boice-Pardee writes mystery novels about the tribulations of a dean of students at a private college on the New Jersey shore; his latest novels, Missing by the Midway and Buried by the Boardwalk were published by Seabreeze Press in 2012 and 2013, respectively. Additionally, he is working on a series of children’s mysteries. He lives in the Rochester, NY area with his wife and two daughters.
