Ethan Morrow (Ph.D., University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) is an incoming Assistant Professor of Communication Studies at Sam Houston State University. Through his work in the field of Communication and with the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence & Security, Ethan has developed an expertise in how individuals think and communicate about topics of safety and security. He has published original research on topics of online privacy, cyberbullying, cybersecurity, and campus emergency preparedness. He takes a social approach to understanding security, placing the human before technology in order to better understand security beliefs and behaviors. His overarching goal is to develop meaningful interventions and messages to raise awareness of security threats and encourage individuals to take action.
