Cynthia Hier is a higher education human resources consultant and retired Associate Vice President of Human Resources for the Colorado Community College System. She has more than 32 years of human resources experience, most of it in higher education. In her AVP role, Cynthia oversaw human resource officers across 13 community colleges and worked closely with the system office chancellor and college presidents to advise on personnel matters, develop and implement programs, and draft and revise policies and procedures. During her tenure, she chaired the Colorado Higher Education Insurance and Benefit Alliance, a consortium of 10 colleges and universities with a multimillion-dollar budget. Cynthia also served as program chair and president of the Rocky Mountain Region of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR), where she helped plan several large regional conferences. She has presented at local, regional, and national conferences and currently serves as an HR consultant for Red Rocks Community College.
