Meeting Diverse Student Needs: How Go2Orientation Transformed Miramar College’s Online Orientation

CASE STUDY

San Diego Miramar College utilized Innovative Educators’ Go2Orientation platform to build a more flexible and engaging online orientation. By incorporating student feedback and integrating career exploration, the orientation became more intuitive and user-friendly.

The platform also supports specialized groups such as veterans, providing centralized resources and clear action steps for students. Miramar’s focus on flexibility, career readiness, and student engagement, particularly during the pandemic, allowed them to meet diverse student needs while continuing to evolve the orientation based on feedback and campus growth.

Innovative Educators filmed on-location at Miramar’s campus, creating orientation content in a familiar, relatable setting for students. By featuring real campus locations and integrating authentic student experiences, the videos provided a more engaging and personalized onboarding experience. This approach helped students feel connected to their environment from day one, boosting their comfort and confidence as they started their academic journey.

One of the benefits of using Innovative Educators’ platform has been the flexibility. With this platform, we can evolve as our campus evolves, and it’s made it really easy to meet students where they are.
