Centralized Training for Statewide Success: Connecticut State’s Online Institute for Faculty Development
CASE STUDY
Following a large-scale merger of 12 independent community colleges, Connecticut State Community College faced significant challenges in providing consistent and centralized professional development for its over 2,000 part-time faculty members. Innovative Educators’ Go2Knowledge platform provided a streamlined solution, enabling Connecticut State to centralize content and manage uniform training across campuses. The Faculty and Staff Online Institute was launched with nine learning paths curated from the platform’s extensive training library, offering staff a comprehensive yet flexible path to professional growth.
The platform’s centralized resource hub facilitated easy updates and streamlined faculty access, ensuring that all 12 campuses could share resources and policies seamlessly. Connecticut State’s approach also fostered a sense of community across the newly merged campuses, helping faculty feel connected to the larger institution. This hub’s capacity to house both professional development and essential onboarding processes unified Connecticut State’s multi-campus faculty, enhancing engagement, standardization, and accessibility.
Because of our partnership with Innovative Educators, we have the ability to take our programming and have elements of it customized and automated. We are able to combine learning pathways around areas of learning that faculty have identified they want to prioritize like DEI.
