Equitable Access, Enhanced Success: How Chabot College Transformed Online Orientation for All Students
CASE STUDY
Chabot College leveraged Innovative Educators’ platform to revamp its online orientation, ensuring flexibility, accessibility, and comprehensive student support. The college used Go2Orientation to build an engaging, non-transactional experience that caters to first-time students and specific populations, such as veterans and probation students.
Chabot College further utilized the flexibility of the platform to create a customized course specifically for students on academic probation. This course included custom animations developed by Innovative Educators, offering a more engaging and supportive experience for students facing academic challenges. By tailoring content to probation students, Chabot was able to provide targeted resources and guidance, addressing their unique needs and helping them get back on track academically. This solution filled a critical gap in supporting at-risk students, making the orientation process not only informative but also motivational.
The new system streamlined onboarding by integrating critical resources and academic pathways, addressing students’ needs from the first contact. This approach improved retention and helped Chabot College provide more equitable, student-centered services, especially during the continuing shifts in learning during and after the pandemic.
The most important items were academic support and financial aid. The information clarified how to access these resources, making it easier to plan and utilize them effectively for academic success.
