Robert Bowers has over thirty years of experience as a teacher, coach, administrator, and program director. He returned to his alma mater, Berea College in 2012 as the Associate Director for School Based Services for the Promise Neighborhood, in the Partners for Education Department at Berea College. In September 2013, he took over as Project Director for a new grant, PartnerCorps. Robert still directs this grant in its eighth year. This grant is an AmeriCorps Grant that serves four high schools in rural Kentucky. Now referred to as AmeriCorps PFE (Partners for Education) this initiative provides twenty mentors and tutors in four high schools who focus on math tutoring, assisting students to navigate high school successfully and transition to a post-secondary program or institution. This work allows Robert to utilize his leadership, administrative, and coaching skills obtained over two decades of serving in public schools.
