Dr. Renee Ruhkamp

Full Bio


Dr. Ruhkamp grew up in Le Mars, Iowa and earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Western Iowa Tech Community College in 1997. In 2005, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Briar Cliff University and moved to Omaha, Nebraska. In fall of 2005, Dr. Ruhkamp joined the nursing faculty at Clarkson College where she taught primarily in the clinical setting. In 2009, she received her Master of Science in Nursing from Clarkson College and in 2015 earned a Doctorate in Education for Health Professions from College of Saint Mary. In 2022 she became a Certified Nurse Educator.

During her career, Dr. Ruhkamp worked in many clinical areas including acute care float team, cardiology, and inpatient rehab. Education always held an important role in her life and that ultimately brought her to pursue a career in nursing education.

Dr. Ruhkamp is a member of the National League of Nursing, Sigma Nursing International Honor Society, Nebraska League of Nursing, and National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). Dr. Ruhkamp is the Vice President of Metro Omaha Tobacco Action Coalition (MOTAC).

Dr. Ruhkamp holds the rank of Associate Professor and currently teaches in the graduate nursing program at Clarkson College. She is very active in the college community, serving on several committees.
