Mark L. Parker is Associate Professor and interim Dean of Norwich University's College of Graduate & Continuing Studies. As Interim Dean he oversees the College’s online bachelor’s degree completion programs and online master’s degree programs, as well as some of the administrative, logistical, and support operations. As Associate Professor he develops and teaches online and face-to-face courses in communication, leadership, epistemology, and critical thinking. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Florida State University and his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. His area of specialization is technology-mediated communication in education and the workplace. In 2010, he was recognized by the University Professional and Continuing Education Association “for outstanding contribution to the body of research on distance education” for his work on the experiences of non-native speakers of English in fully online U.S. university courses. He is a frequent conference presenter on the topic of the success and retention of online students in higher education. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he has more than thirty years of experience leading and teaching in adult and online higher education.
