Kelly Vogel is a Learning Specialist, educator and facilitator with over 20 years of experience. She has taught at City College of San Francisco and Smith College, where she is currently a Lecturer in Integrative Studies and leads faculty workshops on Trauma-Informed Pedagogy and student executive function. Kelly has a Master’s Degree in Literature and is currently pursuing her PhD student in Educational Studies at Lesley University with a focus on Trauma-Informed Pedagogy.
In 2016, after 15 years of teaching writing and literature at the college level, Kelly pursued coursework in Educational Psychology, pivoting from teaching English full-time to becoming a Learning Specialist at Smith College. Here she became acutely aware of the gap between student mental health issues and higher ed faculty awareness of students’ lived experiences. Pursuing a PhD in Educational Studies, Kelly now facilitates workshops on Trauma-Informed Pedagogy to help educators close this gap and create resilient learning environments.
