James R. Gapinski (he/they) is an Instructional Specialist at Chemeketa Community College. In
this role, James supervises Chemeketa’s peer and professional writing tutors, and they serve as
Chemeketa’s Institutional Coordinator for the Western eTutoring Consortium. James also works
as an Adjunct Professor for Southern New Hampshire University’s MFA Program. They earned
their MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College and their MA in Postmodern Literary
Studies from Prescott College. James has presented at numerous conferences, including the
Student Success; Retention Conference, the College Reading; Learning Association Conference, the Association of Writers; Writing Programs Conference, and many others.
