Laurie Hazard, Ed.D., Educator - Counselor - Consultant

Laurie is the Assistant Dean for Student Success and teaches in the applied psychology department at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI. Her research is focused on personality traits and attitudinal variables that mediate achievement motivation. At Bryant, she is responsible for the administration and development of programs and curricula aimed at student success and retention. She oversees the University’s Academic Center for Excellence and Writing Center, Undergraduate Advising, Study Abroad, and the First-Year Gateway Experience. She has been designing curricula for FYE and study skills courses for over twenty years.  In addition to motivational speaking for students, Laurie does faculty and staff development, and has been a higher education consultant for the past fifteen years. Laurie is the co-author of Your Freshman Is Off To College: A Month-by-Month Guide to the First Year, for parents of new college students
