Overview
Currently, there are a growing number of competitive state and federal grants available, and many colleges are not culturally or operationally structured or prepared to explore and actualize these opportunities. My colleagues and I have participated in various grant development presentations called Writing to Win, which provides a formulaic approach to developing successful and competitive proposals. Reflection of our latest work and the work of other institutions highlights that successful development goes beyond the simple formula but is linked to collaboration and diversity of individuals within the development team.
The webinar provides a guided approach to developing cross-functional and inclusive teams and working environments to support grant project development. An essential aspect of the webinar will cover the different components of grant proposals and provide a variety of strategies and promising practices to best leverage stakeholder strengths in support of meaningful and impactful projects.

Dr. Zentner's occupational background consists of over a decade of research, analytics, business intelligence, strategy, and development in public higher education and in various business sectors. He currently serves as the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness (e.g., research, analytics, evaluation, assessment, planning, grant development, accessibility, and accreditation) at Coastline College.
Dr. Zentner is a part-time faculty of business law, SQL database development, forecasting and planning, supply chain management, data science, and data analytics for more than five years in undergraduate and graduate programs.
During his time in research, Dr. Zentner has led the completion of thousands of analytics and research projects, served as a Co-PI on different grants, supported the development of more than 100 grant proposals, and has more than 50 research publications. Additionally, he also serves as college research and planning consultant and editor/author for SAGE publications and other publishing houses in the topics of data analytics, data information systems, and organizational management. Dr. Zentner also serves as the chair of the Research & Ethics Review Board (IRB equivalent) at his current and previous institutions.
Dr. Zentner's educational credentials include a Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) with an emphasis in Strategy and Innovation, a Master of Science in Administration (M.S.A.), a Master of Science in Leadership (M.S.L.) and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Business Administration (BA). He also has professional certificates in data science, executive data science leadership, leading breakthrough innovation, innovation leadership, disruptive strategy, qualitative research methods, foresight practitioner, contract law, root cause analysis, total quality management, six sigma, project management, supply chain management, and CITI IRB: research with human subjects.

Mr. Darian Aistrich’s occupational background consists of more than two decades of professional work within the two-year public California college system in the areas of grant development and grant administration, at the foundation, State, and Federal levels. Some notable agencies Mr. Aistrich has assisted in securing awards from are California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO), California Department of Education (CDE), Foundation for California Community Colleges (FCCC), National Science Foundation (NSF), National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), National Security Agency (NSA), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), and U.S. Department of Education (ED). Mr. Aistrich supports ongoing grant operations with budgets totaling in the millions of dollars.
Mr. Aistrich’s educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Studies (B.S.) from CSU, Dominguez Hills. He has extensive experience with pre- and post- award grant operations; a firm understanding of ever-changing grant regulations and requirements; a sound process for grant development - from idea cultivation through project implementation; and expertise in other fiscal and programmatic aspects of grants.

What is an on-demand webinar and how do I get access?
An on-demand training is a previously recorded webinar available online which can be accessed anytime, anywhere. You can register for on-demand trainings at any time. You will receive the recording the week following the live event. The recording is a campus access license and is available for one year from the purchase date.
How long are the webinars?
Webinars range from 60-90 minutes. Please check each training for the exact timeframe.
How do I register?

When do I register?
You can register at any time, even the morning of the live event. If the live event has occurred, you can purchase the on-demand training (recording) of the session. You can register for on-demand trainings at any time.
What is the process for attending a live event?
The process is as follows:
- You will receive the login information within 5 minutes of registering for the webinar.
- The presentation materials will be available before the live event. Please check the link in the login information email.
- On the day of the live event, participants can log in 30 minutes prior to the start time. Once logged in, participants can see the PowerPoint slides, ask questions, and make comments via the chat feature.
- We email participants a link to the recording the Monday following the live event.
Is there a recording available? And how long is the recording good for?
Approximately one week after the conclusion of the live webinar, participants will receive a link to the recording which can be forwarded to all faculty and staff for viewing anytime, anywhere. The recording is a campus access license and is available for one year from the date of the live event.

Which workshops are your top rated?
We take quality seriously, and so all of our workshops are top notch in terms of content and look. However, if we know how you plan to use StudentLingo (FYE, Retention, Probation, TRIO, etc.), we can make workshop recommendations.
Funding is a little tight, how many workshops can I get for $XX?
You can buy the entire StudentLingo package (50 workshops) or we offer several a la carte options. Unlike a lot of other software companies, we don’t charge per user, so we can work with any budget. We recommend talking to other departments on campus to increase your purchasing power and to share the cost. Also, we do have a pay model whereby students pay directly. If you are interested in learning more about this option, give us a call.
Is there an admin view?
This is a feature of our platform, but comes at an additional cost. With the admin view, you get access to more advanced reporting, and you have it in real time. With the standard membership, you get monthly reports.
How have other schools leveraged reporting?
