After twenty years as a Professor of English at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, where he taught dual enrollment at several area high schools, Miles McCrimmon became the Founding Director of the Reynolds College Academies, which provide high school students the opportunity to earn an Associate Degree during their 11th and 12th grade years. More than 800 high school students in the Metro Richmond Area participate in these academies, which now produce more than 200 AS graduates annually.
Since 2019, McCrimmon has been the Dean of Strategic Enrollment Management at Rappahannock Community College, a unit that helps high school students in a predominantly rural region of Virginia connect with RCC through dual enrollment, then progress to completion of degrees, certificates, or credentials, and make a successful transition into further higher education or the workforce. McCrimmon has published widely in journals and book collections on a variety of topics including dual enrollment and better preparing high school students for college. Dr. McCrimmon holds a Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin, an M.A from Louisiana State University, and a B.A. from Texas A & M University, all in English.
