Esther Kalajian

Esther Kalajian has been working in the field of higher education in Rhode Island and Massachusetts since receiving her M.Ed from Rhode Island College in 1981. Currently, she is an ESL Instructor/Specialist for the Academic Center for Excellence at Bryant University and an adjunct faculty member of the English Department at The Community College of Rhode Island. In addition to her educational work, Esther has been involved in many philanthropic endeavors, most notably, supporting educators in New England with materials for inclusion of genocide education in school curriculum as outlined by legislation adopted in Rhode Island in 2000. She serves as co-chair of the Rhode Island branch of The Genocide Education Project, creator of a University of Rhode Island honors seminar entitled, “The Armenian Experience: History and Culture,” and a member of the Holocaust//Genocide Education Law Implementation Committee.
