The Community College of Aurora (CCA) has implemented Go2Orientation, an online orientation platform, as part of its TRIO program to better prepare and onboard students. Recognizing the need for a more accessible and engaging orientation process, CCA adopted Go2Orientation to create a tailored onboarding experience.
CCA’s approach stands out due to its innovative features, including knowledge checks, an interactive checklist, and a final review. These elements ensure that students are not only passively receiving information but actively engaging with it, reinforcing their understanding of the program and the college’s resources.
The knowledge checks are strategically placed throughout the orientation, prompting students to review key content before moving forward. The interactive checklist guides students step-by-step through essential tasks, such as financial aid, course registration, and campus resources, while the final knowledge check helps reinforce everything they’ve learned.
This structured and interactive orientation provides students with the confidence they need to navigate both the TRIO program and their academic journey. Students report feeling more connected to the TRIO program, the college, and its resources, enhancing their sense of belonging and preparedness.
