When students leave campus, developing clear expectations for return are needed to help both parties involved understand their part in the process. These policies and agreements often run the risk of over-stepping in scope or requirements creating OCR and ADA implications.
Two critical areas for college and universities are the creation of behavioral agreements between the college (often counseling, BIT, residential life, case management and/or conduct) and the student and the how the college manages forced medical leaves. In the best cases, these behavioral agreements help all involved in the process to establish clear expectations and set parameters on how to proceed if challenges arise. In the worst of situations, these behavioral agreements can be poorly worded, far-reaching beyond the legal scope the college has over the student, violate ADA/OCR expectations and read as punitive to the student or un-enforceable to the college. What is an on-demand webinar and how do I get access?

When do I register?
You can register at any time, even the morning of the live event. If the live event has occurred, you can purchase the on-demand training (recording) of the session. You can register for on-demand trainings at any time.
What is the process for attending a live event?
The process is as follows:
- You will receive the login information within 5 minutes of registering for the webinar.
- The presentation materials will be available before the live event. Please check the link in the login information email.
- On the day of the live event, participants can log in 30 minutes prior to the start time. Once logged in, participants can see the PowerPoint slides, ask questions, and make comments via the chat feature.
- We email participants a link to the recording the Monday following the live event.
Is there a recording available? And how long is the recording good for?
Approximately one week after the conclusion of the live webinar, participants will receive a link to the recording which can be forwarded to all faculty and staff for viewing anytime, anywhere. The recording is a campus access license and is available for one year from the date of the live event.
