The Role Of Career & Technical Education In The “Creative” Pipeline
Registration Fee: $345.00

A 2009 study by the Colorado Creative Industries division titled “Colorado: State-of-the-Art, Key Findings from The State of Colorado’s Creative Economy”, defines the 5th largest cluster of Colorado’s economy as the “Creative Cluster” – right behind bio-technology. Since that time, Colorado Career and Technical has been working closely with the Creative Industries Division, the Colorado Department of Education, and other partners in building an educational pipeline for “creative” students. This webinar will focus on partnerships and processes that have enabled Colorado Career and Technical educators and administrators to provide opportunities for students to pursue their “creative” passions and engage them in relevant educational experiences that will lead to employment within this “creative industry”.

Developing & Implementing A Web-Based Early Alert System
Registration Fee: $345.00

Thursday, April 5 ~ 3:00-4:30pm EDT
Early intervention is critical to campus retention efforts. Early alert systems offer institutions systematic approaches to identifying and intervening with students exhibiting at-risk behaviors before the behaviors reach the acute stage. Many of these systems rely on a common format for student referral to a central receiving point. Systems at larger institutions use web-based technology to allow for a scalable approach to at-risk intervention. This presentation describes the development, implementation, and assessment of a web-based, fully integrated early alert referral system at a large, public university in the Southwest.
