Who is the speaker?


Marjorie Savage is the Parent Program Director at the University of Minnesota. She conducts biannual surveys of her own university’s parents, and she has done research on parent services at colleges and universities nationally. Marjorie has presented and consulted on the topic of college-parent-student relations nationally and internationally, and she is the author of a book for college parents, You’re on Your Own (But I’m Here If You Need Me): Mentoring Your Child During the College Years (2003, Simon & Schuster Fireside Edition). She and Katherine Wartman recently released an ASHE monograph, Parental Involvement in Higher Education: Understanding the Relationship among Students, Parents, and the Institution (2008, ASHE Higher Education Report, Vol. 33, No. 6).
