The Power of the Plan: Linking Enrollment Management Objectives with the University Strategic Plan On-Demand Training
More than ever, enrollment management units must do more with fewer resources and must be able to collaborate with other administrative and academic units quickly and successfully. Institutions must maintain their strategic direction, even as the means of moving forward may change. As the saying goes, if you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.
~ Lawrence T. Lesick, Webinar Presenter
Overview
Unlike many strategic plans that are wish lists never implemented, Widener University’s strategic plan has driven the planning, resource allocation and budgeting processes for the university. Planning at the university is an iterative process in which numerous task forces, committees, and groups have the opportunity to view the plans of all administrative units to insure consistency, transparency, teamwork, and alignment with the university’s plan. Enrollment Management Services at Widener University created its own strategic plan, including goals, objectives and action steps, to implement those aspects of the university’s plan assigned to it. This has enabled enrollment management to secure resources, gain university-wide support, communicate more effectively with stakeholders, and achieve enrollment goals in support of the university’s strategic plan.
