Is your institution’s diversity recruitment strategy more about numbers or establishing better relations? Establishing better relationships with key community groups and hiring diverse faculty members can help you achieve your recruitment and retention goals. This program will look at successful recruitment strategies and give insight into overcoming a number of challenges institutions are confronted with when trying to diversify their campus.
Questions that will be addressed during the presentation:
Ronald Roach is a senior writer for Diverse: Issues in Higher Education, a twice-monthly magazine based in Fairfax, Virginia. Diverse and its online component, Diverseeducation.com, reports on higher education access issues that impact minorities and women. Roach is a former newspaper reporter who has written extensively about information technology, business, politics, and higher education. He has previously worked for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Roanoke Times and World News. In the early 1990s, Roach worked as a Press Secretary to U.S. Congressman John Lewis (D-Ga.) A native of High Point, N.C., Roach resides in Washington, D.C.
