This seminar will examine some of the litigation that higher education institutions have faced with regard to their study abroad offerings.  It will describe the importance of doing a risk analysis and then show the types of management that international educators can adopt to decrease their risk exposure.
 

Objectives


Educators will understand the importance of knowing the risks their study abroad offerings could incur, learn to perform their own risk analyses and then learn how to more effectively manage their risks.

Who is the speaker? 

Dr. Régine Lambrech was Director of International Relations at an engineering university in France for over 19 years and then worked as Director of International Education for Quinnipiac University (Connecticut) for three years, where she septupled the numbers of students studying abroad. Dr. Lambrech established her own firm, International Education Consulting, to aid higher education institutions in their internationalization efforts.  Her fields of expertise in international education are program development, crisis management, risk analysis and risk management.

 

Dr. Lambrech was a consultant for the European Commission, a co-founder of the European Association for International Education, and a member of the NAFSA Region XI Leadership.  Dr. Lambrech holds a Ph.D. from Penn State in French and is a bilingual dual national (French/American).
