Overview

This session addresses how the University of Connecticut initiated and operates a broad-based, university-wide program directed at recruiting, retaining, and graduating students in a timely fashion. The vehicle driving these efforts is the University’s Retention & Graduation Taskforce that, over the last eight years, has helped achieve unprecedented retention and graduation success. The Taskforce’s charge is to develop data-driven and research-based recommendations that improve retention and graduation rates. We retain 93% of our freshmen, and 75% of undergraduates graduate in six years.

Objectives

Participants will learn about the step-by-step process we utilized to reach current retention and graduation levels that can be applied at their institutions, as well as the enrollment continuum philosophy within which these efforts are conducted.
