Student satisfaction and engagement surveys are useful tools for identifying what students are doing and how they spend their time, but these surveys do not tell you why students are doing what they are doing.  In order to develop policies designed to enhance student success, institutions must know why students are or are not engaged.  This presentation will address two approaches to discovering what is really going on with students and how institutions can use this type of research to address issues of student success.

Objectives

The objective of this webinar is to provide institutions with two research methodologies that they can implement to gain better insight into issues affecting student success.  The speaker will:

  • Show you the results of our student satisfaction/engagement survey pilot study and cover where we are going from here
  • Tell you about our use of student interviews and show you some of the information we collected
  • Discuss the use of student diaries and show you what you can learn from them
He will encourage you to:
  • think about how well you know your students and are you meeting their needs and expectations
  • think about ways you can get to know your students better
  • think about how you can use this information to enhance student success

Who should attend?

  • 2 and 4 year institutions
  • Presidents, Vice Presidents and Deans
  • Faculty
  • Retention Experts
  • Staff who have a passion for helping students succeed in the pursuit of their educational and life objectives
