Overview
This interactive webinar discussion will introduce a portal for free resources on learning and writing strategies. It will present student reviews from Kenya to Thailand, as well as share tutor reviews. The writing strategies are categorized by discipline areas. Learn how to enhance your Learning Center’s website with these free resources.

Who is the speaker?
Lucy MacDonald, M.A.,M.A. rofessor emerita, Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon, has 20 years experience of teaching online. She taught her first online class in 1992 BW (before the web). The class was Freshman Composition. Besides teaching study strategies, she has also taught Nursing Success Strategies. She is currently teaching College Success courses online at Florida State College, Jacksonville.

In 1995, she developed and taught the first in the nation Study Strategies class on the web. Her study strategies student site began in 1998 grew into the current site www.howtostudy.org. This global student-centered site includes not only study strategies but also writing strategies for 19 different discipline areas. It recently won a national award for innovative use of technology from the National College Learning Center Association.

Lucy has co-authored Tech Talk in the Journal of Developmental Education for over 10 years. For the past 14 years she has been providing faculty development at TIDE (Technology Institute for Developmental Educators) at Texas State, San Marcos. She also received the highest professional honor, by being made a Fellow by the Council of Learning Assistance and Developmental Education Associations.

Her passion is helping students succeed.
