Description Speaker(s) FAQs

Overview:
Violent incidents continue to occur at educational institutions across the country. There is no better time than now to review your college facilities and environment to determine how to make college buildings safer and more secure for the campus community. Emergency planning, behavioral intervention teams and practice drills have become the norm for college officials. However many of us have underestimated the role of facilities and the surrounding environment when considering and prioritizing safety measures to incorporate into resource allocation and future planning. This webinar is designed to assist with developing strategies that can be used to make existing buildings safer and the surrounding grounds more focused on crisis prevention instead of response.
Objectives:
Participants will learn:
  • Strategies focusing on how to influence building safety
  • Ideas on how to retrofit existing buildings reasonably and relatively easily

  • How to focus on increasing safety of students and employees
  • How to find grant resources for campus safety projects
