Overview:
No matter a university’s or college’s history, organizational structure, demographics, or mission, students are facing rising dependence on credit and escalating student loan debt to fund their education without adequate knowledge, guidance, or education. As student affairs practitioners, we must support the education of all college students by establishing a culture of financial empowerment on campuses throughout our nation.

This webinar explores a highly successful financial literacy program based on student affairs that is effectively advancing the money management knowledge and expertise of college students. The program helps all students, from traditional to distance learners, learn how to establish and manage credit, create a financial survival plan for college, understand their credit reports and scores, and more. Participants will learn how they can begin to implement an award-winning program on their campus.
Objectives:
  • Understand the long-term impact and challenges of financial illiteracy facing college students
  • Learn how to create a culture of financial empowerment among a diverse student body from orientation to graduation
